Catching up

Netflix streaming has changed my world.

I am not much a fan of cable television, and waiting for DVDs in the mail was getting old. I was looking for something to fill time. Options of doing productive things quickly went out the window so I looked for other forms of entertainment. Video Games was the first option but after a couple of weeks pressing through a couple games i realized I needed a more passive form of entertainment. that sounds pretty lazy but I needed something that I could put down at anytime and not feel pressed to keep going. Games make me want to finish them, and only having a couple hours at night after work before it was time for bed, I never felt I could fully invest in the games I was playing.

Not sure why it took so long to get the Netflix account. I suppose it was the notion that I would have the free time at night to do things that would be more "productive". This never happened. Signing up was easy, and the first thing I watched was Men in Black, for 28 seconds to test some quality and take it for a test run. I was very excited.

I love movies, but as I was browsing I saw Law and Order Criminal Intent. I started from the beginning and watched straight through the seasons. Then I started This American Life. Next it was Dead Like Me. All of the shows that I wanted to watch but never had the time to find the DVDs or rent through the seasons. A quick side note Dead Like Me wasn't very good but I watched through it all, and the terrible movie. I began Rescue Me and flew through that series. I just finished season 1 of Avatar the last airbender and will have to wait for the other two seasons to be rented on DVD.

As of right now I am involved in the X-files. I never watched when it was on tv but as of now I am enjoying the hell out of it. Maybe I should have watched it back in the 90s
