A Friday, All Fridays

Friday has to be everyone's favorite day of the week.

Maybe not everyones but anyone with a semi normal work schedule.

You work during the day but there is always the goal in the back of your mind.  Just 5 more hours and I can be free.

The anticipation for freedom is what makes the end of the day so nice.  If you don't have to struggle through the day then you don't have the sigh.  The big deep breath that everyone takes as they walk outside from there place of work.

I would like to set up a camera outside the front door of this place at 3 on friday (people around here are lazy and leave at 3... most of the time I leave at 3 on fridays).  I bet it would be people walking down the steps, hitting the sidewalk and sigh.  Over and over and over.

But of course by the time you reach your car your already thinking... damn only 2 more days until I have to go back to work

Strange Thought (or predictability of daylight)

Night and day and all the seasons become completely random.

It must be some crazy astrophysics thing but the weird part is that all of nature is about the same, the only difference is that you wouldn't know if in 12 hours it was going to be 100 degrees or 10 degrees, it could be night or day at any point.

I took physics and do know this couldn't happen.  But lets just pretend.

What would people do if they didn't know how long the day was going to be?  I think about the daylight savings days that seem so long, and that is only and hour a day.

I think that people would set up clocks, large giant clocks that can be seen through the towns so everyone knows what time it is no matter what is going on outside.

I wonder if that would make things more productive, because when it is nice out you may only have those 12 hours of nice weather to work outside.

It is a strange thought I guess but, doesn't everything now seem so predetermined...

Bill Murray

So I was thinking,

Does Bill Murray watch the classic funny movies like I do.  I mean, I am hungover and it is warm out... Boom, Caddyshack is going in, but when Bill Murray is bored on a sunday does he throw on Caddyshack or Stripes or Meatballs or Ghostbusters or The Life Aquatic?

I understand there are a lot of funny movies, but some of the greatest are his movies.

In my mind he does watch them.  But he pretends his character isn't actually him, he laughs, and then he gets that smug smile on his face as he sees all the chicks on set that he shagged.

I know he doesn't have google alerts, he doesn't need them, but I do hope he knows he has gotten me (preverbal me meaning all guys) through many of hangovers.

Sorry about the fanboy post but it must be a terrible burden to be that funny/cool.

Summer Solstice

Today is the longest amount of daylight.  It is all downhill from here...

Well since it is friday and it is the summer I have made a decision that changes my work.  I have personally made friday no tie day.  That's right, I am straight crazy, no tie... at work.

You can have your jeans on friday or your silly shirt friday, but personally I like my no tie friday.  It says damn the man, but not really that much.  It says I am rebelling, kinda.  Well at least it lets my neck breathe a bit during the day before i go out drinking.

Longest day of the year + no tie, this is going to be a good day, I can tell.

Circuit City Sucks

This is an email I just sent to Circuit City... enjoy

I bought this item a LONG time ago.

When it was shipped to me i opened it and I was sad to see that it was not the item i had bought. I followed your return policy online and when to a store to return the product. I first went to the Circuit City in Danbury CT, after getting to the customer service desk the service person took a long look at the product and gave it back to me. She explained to me that she could not accept the return. I showed her the part of the printed return slip from the internet that i could return in store to save shipping cost, and she still did not accept the return. I had to leave the store with the product I did not order still with me.

I was advised to go to another store, so I went to a store in orange CT, with the same response.

I was FORCED to mail back a product I did not order in the first place, I had to pay to mail it back, never mind the useless trips to two separate stores that did not help at all.

This is entirely unacceptable.

At this point I still do not have the product, or heard anything about it in emails or this online account. I have not received any money back to my account, so at this point, I have paid your store money and i have nothing.

I expect an answer to what is going on.

and I assure you that at no point in my life i will ever enter another Circuit City (physically or online). I will be a loyal customer to Best Buy.
