State in the Union
What is the deal with Pennsylvania?
I think out of all the states in the union Penn may be my least favorite and let me explain why.
1) It is Too Big. I dare anyone to name more than three things in Penn worth actually going to, Hersey park, Philly, and Pittsburgh. If you just said the Amish or the Poconos then you have never actually been to those places because in all reality they suck. And although I get a chuckle out of the town Intercourse it doesn't actually mean you are going to have intercourse. I say, take Penn, cut it into east and west, and then send all the criminals to the future fenced in West Pennsylvania.
2)The Roads suck. Every highway is always under construction, and they are SO long.
3)What area does it belong to? Where does it belong... it's not New England, it's not on a coast, it isn't Central America, where does it belong.
I don't know, maybe i shouldn't trash the state but it really sucked to drive through it this weekend, twice. I'm sorry Pennsylvania, but it was a LONG drive.

Pain in the Volleyballs
The last picture was taken at a volleyball tournament I played in. It didn't go that well and we didn't play very good. But, I did get to play some volleyball and it had been a while since I played.
Today I woke up sore as hell. I have been playing volleyball for about 9 years now and would like to say that I am a good player. Since I finished college (kinda) I stopped being involved with a team, this was the first time since 5th grade that I did not have an organized team to work out and practice with. Over the 2 years I started putting on weight, since I am a taller guy it never looked too bad. Until I put on about 50 pounds over my peak performance weight, then it went too far. Over the last 6-7 months i have been working out and dieting (loosely) and loss about 20-25 pounds of the weight. I thought since I was paying with 25 pounds more the last time I played volleyball I would not hurt as much this time.
Well that was an untrue statement, and i can say that my playing was better but today i am sore. Painfully sore. I think the fact that I could play better made me play harder and since i have been working out i never used the muscles in a combination like in a volleyball match. I need to start combining my working out with sports to use the muscles that i am training for more of a variety of uses.

Summer (at least on weekends)
Finally consistent warm weather in New England. This is the time that i think everyone can exhale out and relax. The stress of the winter and finally proof that the summer is on it's way, weekends are nicer when it's nice out. i have high hopes for this summer, things are different from before, i am working and won't have a full summer to blow off. This may actually be better. It's exciting to see the summer coming, like a new beginning because you never can tell where a summer day will take you and what new stories you are going to have afterwards.
Thinking back to the past, one summer in particular, my friends and I just got out of our junior year in high school (this was LONG AGO). My friends where all people I really just got to know over the past 3 months, and as we entered the summer we all where together all the time. Some of us had relationships, others where working on relationships, and even others where ending relationships. The core of our friends where never shaken by others coming in and out. There is no specific moments from that summer that stand out, just one long memory of friends hanging out, doing what we wanted to do and always having fun.
I still have that core of friends but we are all in different locations now, the summers after that where still fun but we always had something else on our minds, money, school, and relationships. The trouble was we had to plan our time together, plan what we where going to do, plan around our other life issues. And now, with us all having jobs, our old entire summer has turned into weekends. Weekends that have to be planned out to maximize the fun before Monday comes back to haunt us. People say that is growing up, and people say that is being responsible.
I guess people are right, but I plan on jamming as much fun into my weekends and holidays as possible. When Monday comes and i am tired, sore, and most likely hung over, i will take my penance (with some Advil) and push through for Friday afternoon. And do it all over again.
